Wordless Wednesday with words
I asked Abigail what the undies on Ken's head meant. I knew it was going to be very innocent and childlike. She said Ken was being Santa, and that's all she could find for his beard.
How clever. Why couldn't I think that way? Nooooo, I went the perverted route. I know that my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life, but I'm sure God will have a mention of my, not so innocent thoughts.
I know we are supposed to mature in our faith, but we still need to approach Christ with childlike attitudes of acceptance, faith, and trust. We as parents do our best to raise our children in truth, and our children have attitudes of acceptance, faith and trust in us. We were the same with our parents. Why does that childlike quality end? Because of sin and evil in this world. But those who accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior are not of this world anymore. 2Cor. 5:17 Therefore. if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come. Also, Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will. Well, amen to that!
So, am I approaching Christ with a childlike attitude? Not always. But because Ken had Barbie's undies on his head, and I got that un-Christlike thought in my head, and the Holy Spirit convicted me with a verse in the Bible, I now will practice, approaching Christ with a childlike attitude. Because to do anything good and right takes practice. It took my child, playing innocently, to teach me something about the kingdom of heaven. Thanks Abs.
