Ahem... see that badge to your right? The one with the flames? The one that says I'm smokin'?
What? It doesn't say I'm smokin'? Oh...ok then. The one that says Iron Chef Champ 2009? Yes, that one. It's mine.

Heidi @ Sacred & Profane held her monthly Iron Chef contest, and I won for the month of June. My Ramen Noodle Salad was the winner. Honestly, all the salads were great, with their own flavor. I will not hesitate to make all of them again.

I'm looking forward to July's recipe challenge. If not to enter, then just to try the recipes.

Oh..what did I win? Actually the winning badge is plenty, but she is also sending me a gift card to either Target or Walmart. I told her to surprise me.

Iron Chef - June

Heidi @ Sacred and Profane has a Iron Chef challenge every month and I finally found one I can compete in. This months challenge is BBQ/Picnic Salads.

I can do salads. This one is a favorite of mine. In fact, I just made a big bowl of it for myself, and ate it all week.
Ramen Noodle Salad

Dressing Ingredients:

2/3 cups oil (I've used olive, vegetable, and grapeseed oils)

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup vinegar


Salad Ingredients:

1 pkg. cole slaw mix

1 bunch green onions (chopped)

1 cup sunflower seeds

1 pkg. oriental ramen noodles (broken up, w/seasoning)


Mix all ingredients together. Serve.

I also have added raisins, or dried cranberries, for a little extra sweetness.
